i'm trying to put a csv file into elasticsearch

is codec = line?

filter { csv {columns => []} }

I'm using comma as a separator

What am I missing?

hmmm, any advice on how to convert a int to a string?

some reason we map it to a int which works great in ruby; but eh isn't valid json?

i guess i can use mutate and convert the field to a string

right; that's not that bad

hoover_damm: ruby has no real fixed integer size IIRC. things can grow to nearly infinite proportions via BigNum or something. Elasticsearch longs have a bound though

and that appears to exceed it
