yeah, ok. I think EnriqueCadalso discussed with you or electrical the format we were using - I know he mentioned that we should be doing it differently

best way to monitor logstash is through observation of behavior (are logs passing, etc)

it's on my todo list to make things inspectable at runtime

should ahve time to do that soon once 1.2 ships
