How is message delivery status reported for the async producer? I.e., how do I know if a message was succesfully delivered or not?

i'm using kafka version: 0.8.2 and kafka-python version: 0.9.4, I am not sure why my script hangs…

it hangs right here: test = KafkaClient('127.0.0.1:9092')

specifically… it hangs here (when I enable debugging)

DEBUG:kafka.conn:About to read 4 bytes from Kafka

when I trace it, it hangs here: kafka/conn.py — data = self._sock.recv(min(bytes_left, 4096))

anyone has any idea?
