okay, gunnar_: what's wrong with this query? SELECT sum("processed_rules") / sum("rules_alerted") AS "alert pct" FROM "sentinel_run" WHERE time > now() - 30d GROUP BY time(1d)

ERR: invalid character 'j' looking for beginning of value

codyaray: not sure, 'j' is not in the query anywhere. It could be a weird parsing bug.

that's my guess. looking at the server logs shows that the server thinks it returned a 200 OK

i actually simplified the query and was able to cause the server to panic

Well the HTTP is just a transport for interacting with the query engine

definitely open an issue if you're able to make the database panic with a query

okay, so the 'j' has something to do with the data itself.

i changed the where clause not to look so far back and get a valid result

just changed WHERE time > now() > 10d instead of 30d

now - 10d **

okay, gunnar_: my theory is that this error ("ERR: invalid character 'j' looking for beginning of value") is produced when you divide by zero

SELECT sum("catchall_alerted") / 0 FROM sentinel_run WHERE time > now() - 1d
