Hi! I am trying to get influxdb running, I tried downloading the 0.8.3 pre-built (tar.gz) and unpacked it. It runs fine but when trying to access localhost:8083 (according to the docs), I get a 404 page not found instead of the admin page.

i had a look at the data folder with `du`

when i use --apparent-size the whole db is just 3MB

when i don't use that flag, it is 310MB

so that means the database consists of thousands of TINY files that are much smaller than one HD sector?

am I doing something wrong here? sounds like I'm wasting my HD...

can i use influxdb directly as effectively as if i use it with statsd? what value does statsd provide?
