Interesting channel for arXiv:

that simeon harvested the trackbacks to arxiv articles

such showing of backlinks is definitely a plan, it seems the interesting approach here is to have arxiv itself provide the channel

right

they spend a lot of time curating those trackback links

as arxiv anyway gets these from pingbacks/trackbacks/webmentions

and making sure they're not spam

and they can indeed curate them

that's exactly my idea of how a server can aggregate and curate annotations from elsewhere

in this example they would only provide annotations for their own content, which is an interesting idea

you would not even have to discover the channel

as they can provide the channel descriptor along with the content

an arXiv channel would be smart to know to only search when on arXiv articles

we had the idea that the sidebar can look through a page, search for <link rel="annotation-channel-or-something"> and then add this channel on this particular page

well pdfs might be more challenging indeed
