I would say in the "Backup" section of the config. But I'm not really a java person, I wouldn't know where to begin. It'd be literally a 1 line code change (a conditional over BackupService.java#L131 ) but I wouldn't know how to manage the configuration/tests

so is there a way to disable emails notification altogether?

like all emails

(avoiding to put wrong data in the configuration, that is)

Not that I'm aware of.
