        Hello everyone
      • Tovok7
        Hello!
      • noone else for the meeting?
      • cdesai
        looks like it
      • Tovok7
        pserwylo, uniq[m] mimi89999_m ?
      • I don't have much to report anyway. Currently packaging repomaker which is tricker than expected. I made it pip installable and have first debian packages. But not all dependencies are in Debian, so I am looking into vendorizing the dependencies for now using a virtualenv.
      • Also, still fiddling with adapting the storage locations to the users home directory. So far everything was always run from one directory.
      • cdesai
I did a lot of packaging work with _hc last summer, and can definitely agree that it does get trickier than expected
      • I don't have much to report either, have been continuing with mirror support, got things cleaned up so at least the current app mirror code isn't as messy as it was initially.
      • I looked at adding mirror support for the images/screenshots, but from a quick glance I saw that all we do is a call to an external library to download the image, so that'll need some changes.
      • That library (universal-image-loader) did seem to have a way to re-try on failure (there is an onFailure callback we can use), but that won't work out of the box given the way we use it currently.
      • Right now it's just return BaseImageDownloader(...), where BaseImageDownloader is a class from the library
      • I suppose next goal would be adding mirror support for the index, to make this actually usable.

I am here but have nothing to report
      • Tovok7
Nice to see the mirror support shaping up!
      • mimi89999_m: does the buildserver build apps that use com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.0.0-alpha* by now?

Tovok7: com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.0.0-alpha* require at least Gradle 4.1 milestone 1, which is not on the buildserver. So no, it cannot build such apps.
      • Tovok7
do you know if it has been added to fdroidserver at least?
      • maybe we should split these external requirements from the fdroidserver packages, so they can be updated more frequently
      • relan
        Gradle 4.1 M* aren't in fdroidserver, see https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidserver/blob/mas...
      • It's unrealistic to have all pre-release versions of gradle.
      • About faster updates, there's some discussion: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidserver/issues/318

Tovok7: cdesai mimi89999 relan: pserwylo: sorry I didn't make the meeting today, its at 4:30am my time for the next month
      • I tagged fdroidserver 0.8
      • uniq[m] and I submitted the netidee grant
      • Tovok7: I'm not so keen on maintaining alpha releases on the buildserver, at least in the current manual way
      • we should fix things so that ./gradlew works, then people can choose whatever
      • and the bulidserver can pre-cache popular gradle versions and libs
      • like relan said, more or less
      • I trying to post the 0.8 fdroidserver to pypi. but it seems the API changed so I have to see about fixing that on my machine
      • Tovok7
        wooo fdroidserver 0.8 ! :)
      • S007 joined the channel
      • use the gradle wrapper and maybe check that it only downloads from gradle.org sounds like a good idea
      • _hc
Tovok7: do you need 0.8 on pypi to be useful or can that wait?
      • mimi89999_m joined the channel
      • seems they just changed it and it didn't seem easy to get it working on xienail with the new API
      • Tovok7
at the moment it is not blocking
      • _hc
or rather, I followed their instructions, and it doesn't work
