Neither kitsonk not I had a chance to put together an agenda for this week's meeting
      • I'm hoping to get the 1.11 issues wrapped up this week, but I've not seen much activity on that yet
      • kitsonk
Hello... I didn't get time to do an agenda this week.
      • But I think there isn't a huge amount new/unique to discuss...
      • dylanks, I think we are setting the end of the month for Dojo 1.11?
      • dylanks
for a cutoff for any new additions... then a release candidate next week, bug fixes, and then a release once we're satisfied with that
      • that said, there's a lot of risk at the moment with the automated tests not running, and some of the tests not passing
      • kitsonk
I suspect the only thing to do to give any sort of comfort is to run it against 1.10 and see if different/more things are affected

1.10 doesn't have the Intern suite, but yes, more tests failed with 1.10 than 1.11 when released iirc
      • kitsonk
        ok...
      • anything else significant on Dojo 1. I felt your e-mail was fairly clear on what the plan was.
      • dylanks
        nope, agreed!

        hmmm... got booted... :-S
      • looks like some sort of netsplit

ok, a quick update on Dojo 2 then... The dgrid team have looked at dojo/compose and the suitability of dojo/compose for the future of dgrid. The feeling was the functionality it is fine, but the API needs some refinement, it is just a bit too verbose and confusing to get lots of common tasks done
      • anyways, we have alpha's for the loader and core on npm... I am hoping with a bit of effort over the next couple of weeks we can progress those to a beta phase.
      • we are in fact using the alphas in a customer project at SitePen at the moment, which is also helping make sure they are stable enough
      • There have been a few TypeScript features we have been championing for Dojo 2 and most of them have been making a level of progress... I will try to collate them in meta, so we can keep track of things
      • In particular there has been movement on typing loader plugins, like dojo/text and the like in TypeScript, which should make it a lot easier for people to use loader plugins with TypeScript
      • Also, the team is seriously considering a way of allowing programmatic design time access to types, this will make it easier to do things like mixins (dojo/compose) and make the type system easy to use for the everyone.
      • that is pretty much everything I had on Dojo 2 this week
      • pdfernhout
On the Dojo 2 vdom widget infrastructure, suggest reviewing Mithril.js by Leo Horie. It uses a vdom approach in an elegant way and is MIT licensed.
      • kitsonk
yes, Paul Bouchon was looking at it this past week as part of the discussion topic in dojo/meta.
      • pdfernhout
        great, thanks!
      • kitsonk
any other business? I am out next Tuesday, so dylanks will have to lead
      • I will take that as a no... ok, everyone have a good week!
      • gavinr_
        thanks kitsonk and dylanks!
