folks stupid question about machine, to add new features. fork the repo, add new feature branch, do you thing (including writing test), then provided it all passes send pr?

      • ehazlett: that's in reference to the bash completion stuff we spoke about. looks really easy to enable. might need a bit of code to enable subcomand and or swtiches completion

        hi
      • is it possible with docker-macine to get the private ip of a machine ?
      • for openstack
      • booyaa
destiny: what ip address does: docker-machine ip <machine name> give you?
      • destiny
        floating ip only
      • and inspect does the same it seems
      • booyaa
could you fudge it by scripting: docker-mhacine ssh <machine name> -- ifconfig | grep eth0 etc etc
      • destiny
        hmm
      • well my machines are in a swarm cluster
      • yes yes i can thanks booyaa
      • booyaa
        oh cool :)
      • destiny
but it's a workaround, don't know if they will implements it in the inspect command
      • could be nice i think
      • booyaa
destiny: slightly convoluted way of doing it, but what does docker inspect container_runniong_on_machine say?
      • destiny
        only the floating ip
      • booyaa
ah thought the docker command might show all network devices
      • destiny: heck raise an issue, give a use case. might happen
      • destiny
oh sry didn't read well the question
      • don't know if docker inspect gives what i want, goin to check
      • booyaa
destiny: i thought the inspect in a docker container is more detailed than the machine version.
      • ah okay lol
      • destiny
well it's a host related information
      • docker inspect doesn't seem to give it so
      • azerus joined the channel
      • booyaa
ah that's a shame, raise an issue no harm in doing so.

booyaa: re: contribution -- yes you are correct -- fork, create a branch, code/tests, etc, open a PR
      • destiny: private IP has to be supported in the driver
      • for example, the amazonec2 driver returns the private address and can (optionally) just use that for provisioning
      • but those are driver specific
      • you can open an issue
      • booyaa
ehazlett: very excited to give it a go :D modified my own project to use codegangsta's cli, bash stuff was dead easy to implement. so i'm expecting a quick turn around for basic functionality.
      • ehazlett
        cool thanks!
      • destiny
ehazlett i'm sure openstack supports it, well i thought
      • ehazlett
destiny: yeah i would think so
      • it's probably just a matter of getting it
      • destiny
i'll look to open an issue yep

love technology these days... I'm in the back seat of my van, speeding along the highway, building a Node.js project in a docker container running on a DO droplet :)
      • and there's like zero latency because I have LTE :D
      • ehazlett
        hairyhenderson: LTE ftw!
      • hairyhenderson
it's kinda silly... it's faster than my home connection
      • though I only have a 6GB cap, which blows
      • ehazlett
        i'm grandfathered unlimited :)
      • hairyhenderson
        heh
      • well, my 6GB is granfathered... unheard of today
      • ehazlett
        nice
      • hairyhenderson
I dont' think there's ever been unlimited data from a Canadian carrier
      • ehazlett
        ah
      • verizon tried to get me to go to a 10G plan
      • only it was $30 / mo more
      • hairyhenderson
there was a special on a few years back - $30/mo for 6GB/mo
      • ehazlett
        nice
      • i'm $30 / mo for unlimited
      • only caveat is that i have to either keep my phone forever or buy them outright
      • because verizon wants me to go to the tiered
      • hairyhenderson
        ah yeah
      • that's my deal too
      • I'm month-to-month now
      • ehazlett
        ah gotcha
