that may be wrong. but it's not hard to write your own context manager around it

what's the right way of understanding the %url part of the code?

url translates to an address based on your urls.py file, 'detail' is the namespace

and question.id is "passed" into it?

the arguments after url (question.id) should in your urls.py file, something like: ?P(<id>[0-9]+)
