shangxiao, I ran manage.py showmigration as suggested,

and my new field (that I added to my model) wasn't there.

I feel like it's related to "managed=true". Where is that value set? Makemigrations just doesn't detect changes in existing models

ycon_: right well 'stashd' isn't in that list, so that usually means that it's not in INSTALLED_APPS

shangxiao, sorry for the wait. Yes stashd/__init__.py exists. It is empty

Ahh nope- should it be blank

it should exist and be empty

ycon_: moral of the story: always use `manage.py startapp <appname>` to create apps

but for now a simple `touch stashd/migrations/__init__.py` should suffice

i was trying to figure out where to point them in the docs, (ie tutorial vs some more advanced topic)

Today I learned each app needs __init__.py in a folder called migrations

what you should have learned is "start apps using the startapp command"

I did a bad thing once and deleted my migrations folder. Funky set me straight

today I learned [well, was reminded] or just how awesome AU health care is :)

like trying to get changes to medicare cards mean having to fill out paper forms _and_ talking to someone at centrelink (which means waiting 1 hour)

I've heard that- emergency services are using a prehistoric system had a look at it a few weeks ago (nsw ambulances)

took son in this morning complaining of stomach pains [he was vomiting all y/day]

they looked him over, ran some blood tests, booked him for surgery, took out his appendix

Ohh crap! Pffew thats a relief

clerk talked to me, pointed out it's all free, and if I have private health insurance, they can claim a little [still free to me] and help with hospital running costs
