This new version of Celery has discarded django-celery

and is now a stand alone app, hence my question

I asked in the celery channel but no ones home

how can i force a form submitter to fill out multiple ModelForms before submitting? it seems like the form functionality is built around single forms
-
alternatively, how can i include multiple models in one form?

hello
-
al1o joined the channel
-
I changed my model and I want migration but I dont knwo how to do
-
FunkyBob
temhaa: ok, which version of Django are you using?
-
JSLint joined the channel
-
temhaa
I changed model field: modified_date = models.DateTimeField()
-
to
-
modified_date = models.DateTimeField(blank=True, null=True)
-
my django version is 1.7
-
FunkyBob
-
then I recommend you read that -- the docs on migrations
-
temhaa
I added attribute to filed (blank=True, null=True)
-
syncdb and migrate not working for this case
-
FunkyBob
but in short "manage.py makemigrations" followed by "manage.py migrate" should do it
-
temhaa
makemigrations output is no changes detected
-
:)
-
FunkyBob
then you likely had not migrated to begin with
-
so you need to revert your changes
-
then makemigrations
-
then _fake_ applying those migrations [because they're already applied]
-
then re-apply your changes
-
c4urself joined the channel
-
makemigrations
-
migrate
-
temhaa
are you sure?
-
FunkyBob
quite
-
if you never made migrations to begin with, the migrations engine is working from a clean slate
-
so you need to clear what you did, and make migrations for your initial state.
-
munichlinux joined the channel
-
so it then knows what to compare against for changes
-
JSLint joined the channel
-
temhaa
FunkyBob: I guess my migrations doesnt work
-
FunkyBob
why do you guess that?
-
pwnz0r joined the channel
-
temhaa
FunkyBob: for example I deleted one field in models.py and run makemigrations
-
FunkyBob: it outout is no changes detected
-
FunkyBob
but have you created the _initial_ migration for the migrations engine to detect that change against?
-
temhaa
Im trying initial migrations
-
FunkyBob
as I said, you need to go back to your original model state and create a migration for that

but

FunkyBob
yes, because you're not using South
-
you're using Django migrations
-
where did you get "schemamigration" from? not from the docs I linked
-
temhaa
FunkyBob: ok you are rigth
-
nok. I dont know why
-
FunkyBob
?
-
temhaa
drop table. and syncdb and deleted one field. and makemigrations. but not changes detected

temhaa: exactly what are you expecting it to detect changes against?
-
you need to create the initial migration for it to know what it's changed from

-
desophos
FunkyBob: so i should look through the django admin code?
-
FunkyBob
if it will stop you look at SO, sure :P
-
basically, formsets have a function to give you a blank form... AIUI the Admin JS uses this as a template for adding new forms to the formset markup
-
IIRC nlh has implemented this quite effectively ...
-
vitorfs
hum, i would create a separe view that returns a HttpResponse, and do an ajax request and append the result to the container
-
FunkyBob
are you trying to add new blank forms? or...?
-
desophos
yes, just adding new blank forms as needed
-
nlh
desophos: there is a js plugin that works really well...
-
desophos
nlh: django-dynamic-formset?
-
nlh
yeah, that's the one :D
-
have you tried it?
-
desophos
i have not

nlh
p.s morning FunkyBob :D

has anyone setup their own postfix emails to use with django?

hmm... apparently it doesn't work with django >1.4
