Hey everyone, I have troubles understanding why django doesn't use my SHORT_DATE_FORMAT, my settings are: TIME_ZONE = 'Australia/Melbourne' SHORT_DATE_FORMAT = 'd/m/Y' LANGUAGE_CODE = 'en-AU' USE_I18N = True USE_L10N = True USE_TZ = True

but in my template {{ asset.upload_date|date:"SHORT_DATE_FORMAT" }} gives me something like 01/21/2014

is it possible to pass a model instance when unit testing template tags?

hexus0: template tags are just functions. You can pass in whatever you want to them.

Hmm I guess I could use the actual Python classes rather than using Template().render(Context()) to call them huh

Anyone have any idea as to how id use a foreign key field with search_fields ?

I'm getting 'TypeError: Related Field got invalid lookup: icontains'

stepmr -- iirc, you should traverse to the field you want to search

so, if it's a related model having a model field, you'd

err, if it's a related model having a field 'name', you'd add something like

your_foreign_key__name

note the double-underscore notation
