also fwiw, I can't `dat share` on my laptop and clone it from remote machines

99% sure the issue is that you failed to connect to the publicbits.org trackers

so I gotta figure out why that might have failed

but if I add another peer on my lan (a linux box exposed to the internet), then remote peers can find my dat

the linux box is in my router's DMZ so all ports are open

creationix: it's possible your linux box is acting as a proxy

I'm sure it is. I see it download bytes from my laptop and upload them to the remote server

my laptop only ever connects to the linux box as peer

network is Google Wifi mesh network

only thing I've changed from default is enable upnp and port forward to my linux box

Im adding some extra debug()s to sort out why the dns tracker isnt kicking in

Im also going to add a way to capture the DEBUG logs automatically within the beaker ui

is this connectivity issue beaker only or dat in general?
