karissa: yea so in dat-core createReadStream needs the dataset option. but createDiffStream never passes it in

karissa: the question for mafintosh is: do we need to pass it in or can dat-core figure it out automatically

ogd: yeah. i was under the impression that a checkout/diff refers to the entire dat, not just the dataset, but is that true?

karissa: im kind of confused about the state of layers, checkouts, datasets, versions, branches, heads + the graph in dat core and how they all relate currently. ill do a call with mafintosh and write it all down :)

and the top level .createReadStream are gonna be removed later.
