"The existing colors play on the traditional and played out red and blue motifs, whereas the updated colors, purple and yellow, are not only a more 21st century color color tuple choice but also each come from existing globally proven use cases."
mafintosh: do you think we need anything else beyond that?
gonna try and outrun the rainclouds, brb
mafintosh
ogd: so we're gonna host the entire leveldown tarball on our gh releases?
I have builds already for osx/ubuntu 12.04. I can put up.
ogd
mafintosh: yep, unless it ends up sucking then we can switch to s3 etc
mafintosh
Lol. I mean I can put them up
ogd: currently using pre-gyp you only host the binary stuff on a remote url and keep the rest of the module on npm.
ogd
mafintosh: i havent figured out how node-pre-gyp does the OS detection, do you know how that works?
mafintosh: oh that probably works too
mafintosh: is the binary part just binding.node or whatever?
mafintosh
Yeah. But using this approach we need to send a PR to leveldown that uses our binary builds (or publish a leveldown-prebuilds than uses them)
Which is super fine :)
ogd
ooh i like the leveldown-prebuilds idea, lets go with that
then if it works well w/ dat we can recommend having leveldown switch to it
mafintosh
Cool! I'll clean up my fork then and publish it
ogd
mafintosh: leveldown-prebuilt probably makes a little more sense as a name IMO
mafintosh: do you knwo if node-pre-gyp will try to build if the platform doesn't have a prebuilt available?
paulfitz joined the channel
mafintosh
Ogd: god damn english native speakers
ogd
:P
mafintosh
Ogd: yeah it!
It will
The only thing it doesnt do (that it should) is some sort of sha validation of the prebuild
ogd
mafintosh: i have a copenhagen question... one time i was talking about how much I love smorbrod to my friend from copenhagen and he told me about something that was basically an open face sandwich but stacked really high with a bunch of different things, as opposed to smorbrod which is more bread/butter w/ a little bit of stuff on top
i dont remember what he called it though, or if i'm even describing it correctly, but I remember it seeming like the 'fancier' or bigger version of smorbrod
mafintosh
Yes! We call that "højtbelagt smørrebrød" which translates roughly into tall smorbrod
ogd
OH SNAP
mafintosh
Its super good. We sometimes eat that at partys as a "good night snack"
ogd
d00d i going to eat so much of that next month
mafintosh
That and easter beers!
ogd
haha read that as easter bears
mafintosh
Lol
We have seasonal beers here. Best thing about this country
