        Fabianius: Hi!
      • SphinxC0re has quit
      • Ores have been implemented a long time ago. Could you post your world.ini on pastebin and post a o
      • link to it here
      • ?
      • (sorry)
      • Fabianius
I installed it for the first time. I have no ores on build 180 but I do have ores on build 162.
      • Let me try to reproduce it again on build 180.
      • I'll just TNT a bit around a new world in the current build. If I don't find any ore, I'll complain again. ;)
      • SphinxC0re2
how did you get the server?
      • robert_
        indeed, I'm wondering that myself.
      • SphinxC0re2: Dev Vortex has ores and I built that what, a couple weels ago?
      • 3 or 4 weeks ago or something, I think.
      • Fabianius
I can confirm. No ores at all on current build.
      • robert_
        bullshit.
      • Fabianius
I downloaded it from the official website for Windows 64-bit.
      • Just started the server. Didn't change anything.
      • robert_
SphinxC0re2: From what I remember, the official website's win64 build doesn't have lava implemented really well, either.
      • Fabianius
Does Cuberite have less ores than regular Minecraft?
      • robert_
        No
      • I think someone is just slacking off and taking his sweet time with updating the builds on the website.
      • robert_ glares at SphinxC0re2.
      • The win64 build doesn't do fire really well, either.
      • it just sits there.
      • the latest github build works better, but still not it's without bugs. :p
      • Fabianius
Because GitHub shows changes concerning ores in recent commits.
      • robert_
Like I said, someone is slacking off promoting builds on the website. *glares more at SphinxC0re2*
      • Fabianius
But the website always provides the most recent build from the build server.
      • SphinxC0re2 has quit
      • I compiled the current version of Cuberite on Linux and can confirm again: There are no ores on the map. Only stones.
      • robert_: Do you have ores on the current version on Linux (unlike me)?
      • robert_
        yes.
      • I compiled it a few weeks ago.
      • Fabianius
robert_: It works in older builds. However, it is broken in the current one.
      • robert_
I've got ore, and have had ore for weeks.
      • I update mine every couple of days when the repo changes.
      • Fabianius
robert_: Then I'd better wait some more days until this gets fixed.
      • robert_: I'm new to this project. Are there any guidelines on which versions are stable?
      • robert_
I just got here a few weeks ago. Hey, rincewind1- would you have an answer to Fabianius's question?
      • Fabianius
Since rincewind1 is from Germany, he's likely in bed by now.
      • Guess I'm gonna follow that advice. See you again tomorrow then!

The current Cuberite version does not generate any ores on the map.
      • Tested with version from build server and self-compiled, Windows and Linux with default configuration.
      • rincewind1: I was told to contact you about this.
      • rincewind1
rly? Who told you that? ^^
      • Sadly I do not know anything about the code, I just did some documentation
      • Fabianius
My question was actually whether the versions that can be downloaded from the website were stable.
      • rincewind1: So you might know the answer to that. Guess that should be somewhere in the documentation. ;)
      • Because generating chunks without any ores is highly undesired for any Minecraft server.
      • tycho
Theres no such thing as a stable version.
      • rincewind1
I wouldn't call it stable, since we do not a stable version yet
      • Fabianius
According to GitHub commits madmaxoft changed code concerning the ores. Guess he somehow managed to suspend ore generation on the map.
      • rincewind1
you could try to go to an earlier stage and use that
      • Fabianius
Yeah, ore generation worked in an older build.
      • Weird approach to fix a bug, though. ;)
      • NOTICE: [cuberite] Gargaj opened pull request #2713: Tilling dirt should send block update (master...patch-2) http://git.io/vREVX
      • rincewind1
Well, reverting the master to that stage would be some kind of fix, but not a good one

        hi robert_
      • I hope the discussion went well last night
      • robert_
        how goes it, SphinxC0re
      • apparently he's still having issues with ores.
      • I don't know why
      • the current build *does* generate ore.
      • SphinxC0re
Fabianus wasn't amazed about the missing ores. How did you solve it?
      • oh
      • he didn't
      • I see
      • but I don't really understand why it's not generating ores

      • robert_
there's ores, I've dug around before
      • SphinxC0re
could you check back with MCEdit?
