It's a service that allows people to donate to MCServer, and for MCServer to donate to the devs.
-
-
archshift
I've already donated some
-
like 1 mBTC :P
-
bearbin
No, this one is different, and it's do you want to receive :P
-
archshift
oh, right....I donated to the tip4commit
-
and it's fine, I don't really need it
-
shit.
-

Just saw your PR archshift, it looks great. Even xoft doesn't have much to say about it.
-
archshift
thanks
-
yeah, I think we do need a cPawn::IsUndead() method

Does anyone know how much of a hot path sending chunks to clients is?
-
Not packets 0x22 and 0x23, incremental changes but 0x21 full chunk?

hi Tycho
-
Tycho
Hi
-
I've been wondering weather using YZX instead of XZY coordinate order in storage would be an improvement
-
LO1ZB
the Vanila Anvil format is using YZX...
-
-
Tycho
Yes but we ca
-
Only in memory we can translate4 on storage
-
It really just a matter of how often do we send whole chunks
-
to clients. Thats the only performance critical thing that needs XZY
-
LO1ZB
every chunk gets converted in memory befor the server sends it to the client?
-
Tycho
Well sending to client would be in XZY order so we would have to reorder in the protocol classes.
-
However as far as I can tell thats only done when the client first enters a chunk. we use incremental updates which don't have an order after that
-
It would be a significant benefit to the memory access order of the generator and lighting
-
bearbin joined the channel
-
We already copy the data in the serialiser. It would only effect memory order
-
bearbin
i'm back :)
-
what are you discussing?
-
Tycho
@bearbin. check the logs. I was pointing out ht advantages of YXZ coordinates of XZY
-
Only cost is in storage where its completely masked by IO and ChunkSerializer which is only done on first sending a chunk to a client
-
do you know of any disadvantages?
-
LO1ZB
I cant see one with it.
-
bearbin
oh ok
-
LO1ZB
maby @xoft?
-
Tycho
I've cross posted to the forums on the issue of sending stuff to clients.
-
If I don't get any response from that I'll post a proposal on github.
-
Though I'll wait a wile for the response. @xofs busy dancing right now
-
LO1ZB
can you think of anythingk where I could make screenshots from for a promotion thread in a dev forum?
-
Tycho
TOP on a pi?
-
Webadmin
-
Get 5 users logged in on a pi and screen grab top. Thats our main advantage.

Switching computers.

TMP: creating a function that creates an instance of an empty object to call operator() on it.

So that you get template inference in calling the function and specilization of the class

ok...

If anybody wants to write a user guide, it's all ready now :P

anything new?

what with?

potions, MCServer or just in general?

anything

Well the generator for the MCServer User manual is basically done, so work should be able to start on actually writing it.

why is the nvidia cuda sdk 1.08 GB big?
-
:(
-
archshift
LO1ZB: maybe they hid a full-length movie in there?
-
LO1ZB
360p or what resolution is ~1GB at movie length?
-
archshift
Old DVDs (mkv) were about 1GB after compression
-
low bitrate I guess
-
LO1ZB
Star Wars 3 Blueray (1080p24) is ~37 GB with only german and english laguage
-
archshift
wow

Does that include all the extra features?

only the movie

there is a software that can make a mkvfrom bluerays

mkv**

doesn't it cost money?

the software
-
LO1ZB
nope
-
at least i think that
-
let me test something
-
it tells me that i can test it for 30 days.....
-
thats 100% the same message that i got like 6 days ago
-
archshift
perhaps it doesn't count down for you, but still stops working 30 days after you first opened it?
-
I think I've seen software that does that
-
LO1ZB
even wehen it does so, i can install it in a VM
-
but it askes me "do you want to start the test period"?
