It's a cultural thing. Poland is serious about high quality art.

And it shows in Poland's coinage.

Most countries aren't as good at it. The USA's coinage art is crap compared to poland.

I used some PRL era aluminium coins as screw washers not so long ago... oops

sztelke: I'm not familiar with those coins. I actually know almost nothing about Poland's coins, since I only collect Chinese coins right now. I just know Poland's coins almost always impress me when I see them.
