I have about 25 bills from various countries around the world that I would like to identify the country of.
you may say "oh you can figure out some of those easily with a little google", but bear in mind this is the remainder of several hundred bills. the low hanging fruit has been picked
these bills contain no useful clues like telling microprint, and all the text on them looks cyrillic, indian, or arabic
ie I can't read it and can't easily enter it into a google search
ACtually, I have to go right now, but I'll be back a little later.

N0ZYC_: You can paste a link to your bills? I might be able to see them before I leave. I have some minutes.
N0ZYC_
I haven't scanned them in yet, I will probably do that but not in the next few minutes
badon
OK, I'll check later.
N0ZYC_
I've purchased bills in random lots from time to time over the last few years and am just now getting around to really sorting them and bindering them
like with coins, I get interesting bills, not anything specific or necessarily valuable
so I have a lot of truly random assortment here that look interesting but I can't identify.
I'm going to go dig through my past purchases to try to find matches. I'm sure I'll get most of them that way but it's going to be slow going. n-squared searching and all

N0ZYC_: I'll be right back. Cycling my connection.

N0ZYC_: Have you seen ##prepping yet?
It's becoming pretty active lately.
N0ZYC_
currently have 198 bills in the binder, not counting US, Canada, and Japan, which have their own binder
badon
That's a big collection.
N0ZYC_
does't feel like it
20 of them are North Korea heh
a few times I've ordered the seller is like "here have some of these too on the house"
comedy
badon
We were talking about North Korea in ##prepping today.
N0ZYC_
some of them appear to be demo or test run prints, their sn's are all zeros, and there's a red stamp near the serial number area that I can't read
badon
Sounds like Chinese-made training banknotes
N0ZYC_
probably the best thing that can happen with that nuthouse is china to say OK had enough of your punk crap destabolizing the entire planet, we're stepping in for a minute and gonna straighten out this "democratic republic" of yours
in a way I feel bad for china. they're like this mature older brother that has a big mouthed punk little brother that won't quit starting fights and runs behind the big bro whn someone comes to give him the pounding he has coming
only the big brother can fix that problem
training bank notes?
also the red stamp that's on them, while I can't read it, I'm pretty sure it's in korean, not chinese
badon
Still could be a training banknotes.
Could still be Chinese too.
N0ZYC_
what is a "training bank note"?
badon
It's used for training bank tellers.
It's fake money that looks almost identical to the real money, with the same size and shape.
I'll get you a link.
N0ZYC_
they do look pretty identical. I haven't compared them carefully, but my initial impression is they were authentic except for the stamp and SN
this guy is on one of my bills. BY NAME and picture
...
"Sergey Panteleevich Mavrodi is a Russian criminal and a former deputy of the State Duma. He is the founder of the МММ series of pyramid schemes. Wikipedia"
"MMM" is on this bill also
badon
interesting
N0ZYC_
not sure what to think of that. I have a few things here that are NOT state issued currency (I've got what appears to be a spanish hospital coupon of some sort) but this...
never heard of a ponzai scheme issusing currency
badon
You can't cheat an honest man.
N0ZYC_
not a smart honest man anyway
ok one left. and I have NO CLUE what sort of writing this is
"drunk russian"
badon
Honesty takes conscious work, so intelligence is less important that iuntrospection.
N0ZYC_
(scanning)
I'm quite certain my scanner is old enough to not care about constellation
In January 2011, Mavrodi launched another pyramid scheme called MMM-2011, asking investors to buy so-called Mavro currency units. He frankly described it as a pyramid, adding "It is a naked scheme, nothing more ... People interact with each other and give each other money. For no reason!"[
apparently that's what this is...
yeah I know all about constellation
and you can add it to documents and print them and people can't scan them or photocopy them hehe
photoshop will also refuse to open them
it'll pop a message saying you can't edit images of currency
anyway I have no clue what alphabet that bill is using. it's probably very narrow, maybe a single country. clearly identifying it alone will identify the bill immediately
badon
Armenian
It's a very small country.
N0ZYC_
looks a bit like Devanagari (India) or Sinhalese (Sri Lanka)
badon
Definitely not.
N0ZYC_
Armenia looks promising
hmm no that uses a cyrillic like russia
badon
IT's a tiny landlocked counttry stuck between Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Georgia.
