nvm figured it out

I asked this yesterday, but I still have not been able to find a solution. My celery beat tasks are not executing.

There are other tasks coming into the queue and the workers are picking them up and executing.

I am lost in trying to know where to start debugging from.

kaakku, you're seeing celerybeat try and run them but no worker actually runs the task?

or celerybeat is simply never scheduling them?

dpn`, I would say they are never being scheduled because I tried stopping all the other tasks coming in. The queue remained empty.

Also, this works on my local machine, but not on production.

kaakku, celerybeat logs when it schedules a task to run so you should see it in the celerybeat log

if you aren't seeing it there then it sounds like a configuration problem

especially since it works in prod

what are you using as the schedule db?

dpn`, I have been keeping a close eye on the INFO loglevel. I did not see any of the beat tasks being scheduled.

dpn`, I am using rabbitmq as the BROKER_URL, if that is what you mean.

and how are you creating scheduled tasks?

dpn`, That has the celerybeat tasks defined and also has the command I am using to run beat.

dpn`, Forgot one setting: CELERY_IMPORTS = ['streamingtasks.tasks']. That gets the tasks from the streamingtasks/tasks.py file where we have defined them.

are you using supervisor in local dev?

I've found running celerybeat as a separate command much more reliable
