only associated with celery

(not of application)

can someone help me?

its a matter of MySQL...

hey, i have a pretty long-running task that emits a message at the end of the task, but i'm unsure of how far along it is now or if it's even progressing

i have flower installed; is there some way for me to have the task emit some kind of signal that can tell me that it's not stuck somewhere that i could detect from flower?

(preferably something that won't impact performance much, as the task goes through hundreds of thousands of small, identical calculations in a single iteration)

i'm guessing this has something to do with the monitoring part of celery, but i can't find anything in the docs about how to actually send an event to the monitor
