how could I tell beets to ignore the data track in this release? https://musicbrainz.org/release/78c931fa-fa58-4... the dir I'm importing starts with 02, the first music track, but beets expects 11 tracks

Laverne: that should be fixed in musicbrainz

if the [data track] is denoted as such there, beets will pick it up correctly

I'm importing a folder with several duplicates files per track, so I have Foo.mp3 Foo(1).mp3 Foo(2).mp3

beet correctly uses existing metadata to match the first track but the tries to pinpoint other track from same album to the other copies, unaware that someone could be so foolish to keep copies of the same track

is there a way I can tell it to import the same track multiple times?

actually my whole point in using beets was exactly to use the duplicates plugin, but it assumes files have already been imported into library

anddam: You can import them as singletons (non-album tracks) if that works in this case.
