I run it again and resume the process and it resumes okay and goes on. On a big dir, I have to do that quite often to complete a directory.

It seems to hangs at random.

what platform and what plugins?

DjSlash: I thought about that, but it really seems like it's hanging. If I stop and start the process again (resume), it outputs more results instantaneously. I can repeat the experience.

If I sync my files between devices with some third party software like Syncthing. Is it sufficient to do `beet update -M` to sync database with changes?

I mean on the devices that receive changes and are not intiator of changes.

DjSlash: However, I don't exclude the possibility it's working in the background and I'm just not patient enough. I'll give it more time and see.
