how can I turn on debug logging for beets?

is there a way to "check" if every path in the library actually exists on the fs?

also.. if i have singles... whats the most elegant way to merge them back into their correct album?

or more general, how do you merge songs from and back into albums anyway?

flesk: For checking that paths actually exist, try `beet update --pretend`.

(Although that will do other stuff too.)

About merging… we don't currently have a great solution. https://github.com/beetbox/beets/issues/112

sampsyo: thank you, yes already using backup -p -F someunimportantfield -f '$path' to check for missing entries on the FS

and right now im moving the file back and import -t... which is really time consuming

flesk: the duplicate-plugin has an option to merge duplicate albums. you could use that after importing the single track (assigned to the same album that you want to merge into)
