_dmp1ce: I used beets to organise folders fed into Kodi. Kodi can handle music videos along with audio-only music files and play both together or separately as you wish.
So depending on how you've set up things, it might or might not make sense.
Once I get beets set up again, I'll probably go for something like /some/path/Media as my beets directory and then have Music and "Music videos" and "Audiobooks" and "Podcasts" as subfolders of that and have beets sort files depending on MB info.

hi, is there a way to specify a specific date format for beets to use?
mpd expects dates to look a certain way and beets isn't always doing it right
gregf: I would expect beets to use standard ISO date formatting: YYYY-MM-DD

Hello. Quick question: I used beets in the past, but have not used it lately and have not used it with my new computer. I still have my old library db, and have updated my config file to point to the correct directory structure and db. To ensure that beets should I just do: 'beet import ../mylibrary -A'
ensure that beets is up to date*
I get a little nervous messing around with my music files :)
