looked around in the faq and couldn't find the answer - how do I tell beets to delete everything in its library folder that isn't in the database? move it to another directory and then purge the old one?

sampsyo when I import huge boxsets (40cd+) beets takes multiple hours with one cpu core at 100%, any way to speed that up?

Do you have fingerprinting enabled?

Turn that off temporarily—it's unlikely to help and is probably the bulk of the time.

There are a few non-scalable algorithms involved, so it will probably still be slow—but hopefully not multiple hours.

does it help if I know the album name or even a musicbrainz id and all i really want is for it to do its fetch metadata magic?

Unfortunately, there's not currently a way to tell beets the info before it does its initial lookup.
