So with Beets getting its data from the MB database, is there a plugin that lets you find out if any of your artists have albums out that are newer than those in your library?

If not, would it be feasible for me to write one?

I found something like it using muspy

I might slap up a script the uses THAT data to filter out everything you have already

But muspy itself is fairly amazing, such a simple webservice with no bullshit attached

OK, I give up. What's the right way to debug a plugin (replaygain)? I've tried peppering "import pdb; pdb.set_trace()" all over the place and I'm just not getting dropped into the debugger. I've set "threaded: no" in the config.

Yup, I'm an idiot. I somehow managed to end up with two versions of beets installed. One from pip and one from calling setup.py install when switching to git. All fixed.
