because they're corrupt?

and they're being decoded by mutagen or gnustreamer or whatever, to the etent that they are being decoded?

They all play fine

i just ran beet import on a directory I was trying to clean up all from the same source with similar file types

fingerprinting of "/media/everything/MusicComplete/musicfrompeople/cslamardls/Vol.09 Bessie Smith/The Blues Collection-Vol.09 Bessie Smith (Classic Blues)-16-I'm Down In The Dumps.mp3" failed: audio could not be decoded

I also got this error:

that's... pretty obvious as to what the error might be?

oh heh, sorry, first I'd try disabling discogs plugin

then I'd investigate if you need to enter your credentials into it?

I would have thought that the fingerprinting was unrelated to the discogs add on, but I'll try it

got the same audio not decoded error

then it's almost certainly either permissions or gstreamer having some issue?

do you have all the gstreamer plugins you need?

i thought i installed everything necessary and it was working last time I used it

I do not know about the discogs version, but I'll check

pyacoustid is 1.1.0

that appears to be the latest for my distro ubuntu

i searched gstreamer plugin on the beets.readdocs and didn't see anything specific specified

according to the software center I have the extra plugins and the ones for mms, wavpack, quicktime, and musepack

there are two more options for

aac xvid, mpeg2 faad

right, so you probably don't have the one you need.

ill install those
