        hey sampsyo, thanks for the reply. i have the folder at least. not sure which file. they all seem like normal .flac's with metadata as far as my music player is concerned

        Yeah, it's likely they are not corrupt; just mishandled
      • You could narrow down the crash by enabling the "info" plugin and pointing it at each file in turn
      • If you do find the offending file, can you share it so we can reproduce & fix?

      • since the files import no problem with a clean library, and all pass the info check, i not actually those particular flac files causing the problem :/

        it seems to be happening to random folders. i'm moving them out as i crash into them
      • have people used beets with ~3tb libraries?

        if i rerun the big import, it'll crash in the same spot. if i create a new library, and just try to import those crash causing folders, no problem

        are you sure it's not a different folder that's causing the crash? beets' importer is multithreaded, so it could be asking you questions about one album while processing a later one
