Hi, thanks for the link, I have browsed through almost all of it, but there is still something I'm wondering about: Is there any built-in way (or supplied by a plugin) to tag music files from a txt-file? I have text files listing all metadata for an album, one line per track, structured in a set pattern. Or would I have to code this functionality myself?

There's currently no such functionality, afaik. So yes, you'd have to code that yourself. But maybe a better effort would be to add missing metadata to musicbrainz, so others might benefit and you can use beets in its best ability.

Can I use the rewrite plugin to remove "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" from album titles? Would it just look like "album .*original motion picture soundtrack.*: " ?

hi, I have a slight problem with fetchart. it's downloading the album art and placing it in /tmp but then it just leaves it there without moving the art to its respective directory in my music dir
it's definitely not a permission issue since in /tmp the files are owned by me and my group and in my music dir all the subdirectories are 775 (and owned by me and my group)
okay that's odd, it seems it does actually do its job if I set embedart to not delete the file. however before I did that it wasn't actually embedding the art so I guess it first deletes then embeds?
