I stumbled across powerstrip and the docker plugin for flocker. I wonder if I'm mistaken if I assume that the first was your inofficial approach for adding external extensions while the latter is the now official way to go?
(I'm writing an article for the German Linux Magazine on Flocker, and I want to ensure that I got this right)

Madkiss: powerstrip is/wass an unofficial way of extending the docker api. There are now official extension points for volumes and networking. But, in theory pwoerstrip is still usable for prototyping other extensions.
There isn't an official, supported flocker plugin for either yet, just experimental ones.
At least, that is my understanding. lewq or binocarlos would have a more authorative answer.
