and wee-slack (WeeChat integration) is made by a Slack employee, IRCCloud also uses an official Slack API

Nicd-: Ah sorry, that's just Discord. IIRC Slack just reserves the right to control which app is allowed and which isn't.

That makes no sense to use for a FOSS project when you claim to promote accessibility and diversity, but whatever.

I agree with you there, Slack is bad for open projects

I wish you could set a Discord server to be search engine indexable, that's a big thing that's missing from many chats

And it's "standard" because companies all want to put users in their very own walled garden, that we just accept that is very weird to me.

a lot of knowledge is lost, especially on Slack where there's the message limit

I accept that if I'm using a product for the service it provides, in a lot of cases I can't provide my own product and expect the same service
